Drink up PST's artist-in-residence Brad Shur's imaginative puppeteering of traditional Jewish tales!

About the show: Uncle Murray is coming over for dinner, but there's no food in sight! A young man's search for a family recipe ends up bringing folk tales to life...in his kitchen. Based on a collection of traditional Yiddish stories, "The Magic Soup" teaches that it is those with wit, humor and imagination who have the best chance of filling their bellies -- and fulfilling their dreams.

Performed with mixed styles of puppetry, including rod, shadow and tabletop.

Recommended for ages 4 and up.

About the performer: Brad Shur is currently the artist-in-residence at PST. He has been active in the professional puppeteering world for over a decade, ever since he was studying at the Rhode Island School of Design. Brad performs with all forms of puppetry, from rod puppets and shadow puppets to Japanese bunraku puppets and marionettes. In 2007, Brad built and designed puppets of the 10 American Idol finalists for a Ford commercial which you can view here.
